Logistics Blockchain: beyond Fintech
Built to power bitcoin, blockchain grew outside the financial industry and is now eating the world. Blockchain allows supply chains to register events in a secure and sharable way. These events are tamperproof and no malicious entity will be able to change them. This creates a sense of trust between all the stakeholders: producers, third-party logistic operators, warehouse operators, retailers, and end consumers.
Oracles: connect with the outside world
Sensefinity’s trackers and sensors collect location and environment conditions from the transportation and storage of cargo. These metrics (such as temperature, humidity, and shock) are simultaneously registered in Sensefinity’s platform and also in the logistics blockchain. This way, selected key information can be safely stored and accessed by authorized partners. These partners don’t need to have access to each other's IT systems. They access the information directly from the blockchain.
Audits can be performed on the registered information, and since it is impossible to tamper with that information, these audits will enforce trust between organizations.

Most blockchain solution providers don’t have oracles: mechanisms that allow the blockchain to connect to the outside world. If, for example, if want to certify the origin of cheese from a specific provenance with just blockchain you’re still missing a piece: who’s controlling the herds? With Sensefinity’s complete platform you can control the provenance: just add sensors to the herd and track-n-trace facility will automatically upload into the blockchain the location of lambs and goats making sure that those are from the right provenance!
